Several Cabrini Art Honor Society and Art II students will have artwork on display for the Artfully Aware event at the New Orleans Museum of Art tonight, Friday, February 3 from 5 - 10 pm. Art teacher Cissie Gardner and Guidance Counselor Renee Boyer are also submitted pieces for display. The art show is sponsored by a non-profit group called Artfully Aware which highlights artwork from artists across the world.
Catholic Schools Week Mass

Student representatives from Cabrini High School joined over 1,000 Catholic school students, parents, teachers, and administrators at the annual Catholic Schools Week Mass. This year's Mass was held at St. Dominic Catholic Church, and was celebrated by Archbishop Gregory Aymond. Aymond, who recently returned from his visit with Pope Benedict XVI in Rome, commented that the Holy Father "said hello," after Aymond told him about the youth of the Archdiocese and the Mass this morning. In his homily, Aymond connected the gift of a Catholic education to today's feast day, the Presentation of Jesus, in which Mary and Joseph present the gift of their son to God. The Mass is held in conjunction with Catholic Schools Week, which celebrates the rich tradition and heritage of Catholic Schools. This year's theme of Catholic Schools Week was "Catholic Schools: Faith. Academics. Service."
