Cabrini Junior Service Learning Project

As a part of their curriculum, juniors in Ms. Pizer's religion classes recently participated in a service learning project for the St. Joseph Rebuild Center. Now in its sixth year, this project benefits the homeless guests in two ways. During one class period, several students make 400 sandwiches to be put in 200 lunch bags to be given to the guests; students include an uplifting note in each bag. While those students remain at Cabrini, other students travel with Ms. Pizer to the Rebuild Center for a tour, time with the guests, and lunch distribution. Juniors study poverty as a part of their religion curriculum, as Mother Cabrini ministered to this population during her life. This service learning project is generously funded by the Brown Foundation for Service Learning.
