Cabrini Sophomore Service Learning at Esperanza SchoolSophomore Religion Service Learning Program took Cabrini students to The Esperanza School in October. During their time there, Cabrini students read a book with their “buddy” from Esperanza. With a large immigrant family population at Esperanza, some, but certainly not all, need assistance with their English. After reading a story, the Esperanza students completed a worksheet. After the reading was complete, there was time for play and relaxation. By the end of the visit, a bond of friendship was formed between all involved. There are additional Esperanza trips scheduled this year for the Kindergarten, First and Second grades. The project is funded through a grant from The Joe W. and Dorothy Dorsett Brown Foundation Service Learning Program.
