Cabrini Michelle FortierMichelle Fortier’97, chair of Cabrini’s English department, has been selected the Louisiana Association of Computer Using Educators (LACUE) Region 1 Secondary Teacher of the Year.

LACUE recognizes those educators who have effectively integrated the use of technology into their educational programs. Each nominee is someone who is using computers-based technology in an innovation fashion. The awards program is opened to all educators associated with private, public, and parochial schools located on the state of Louisiana. Teachers are nominated statewide by fellow teachers, students, administrators, parents, etc. who submit their nomination to a select committee.

She was nominated by Cabrini English teacher Ashley Evison. The selection was made by the awards committee of LACUE.

She will be recognized at the annual LACUE Conference Business Meeting and Awards Ceremony December 8, 2016 at the New Orleans Hyatt Regency Hotel.
