1. Tulane University will host Louisiana Week for Juniors and Sophomores. The program will take place Monday, Wednesday, and Friday during the week of February 13-17, 2012, students may choose one day of the week to visit. The program begins at 8:35 am on the second floor of the Lavin-Bernick Center for University Life and includes: Admission Information, Campus Tour,Lunch, Student Panel Discussion, Financial Aid, and Optional Class Visits. 2. The Archdiocese of New Orleans will host a College Fair on Wednesday, February 29 from 6:00-9:00 pm. We encourage sophomores and juniors to attend with their parents to start gathering information on various colleges that will be in attendance. The event will take place at the Pontchartrain Center.
3. Atlas Test Prep is a standardized test prep company that will be offering several upcoming classes for the April ACT. Classes start on February 11 at either UNO or Tulane. The program includes 4 diagnostic tests and 6 weeks of classes in ACT preparation. The cost of the course is $399. For more information or to sign up, please visit www.atlastestprep.com
4. The College Connection Trip will take place from Tuesday, May 29 through Thursday, May 31, 2012. Over these 3 days, students will visit Spring Hill College, University of West Florida, Birmingham-Southern College, University of Alabama, Mississippi State University, and University of Southern Mississippi. Transportation, 3 meals a day, and lodging will all be included in the price of the trip. Students will only need additional spending money on the trip for souvenirs. The cost of the trip is currently based on an estimate of 10 students attending, however if more students attend, the cost of the trip will decrease. The total cost estimate is $650.00 for 10 students, $550.00 for 12 students, or $460.00 for 15 students. If we do not meet our minimum requirement of 10 students, the trip will be canceled and all funds will be reimbursed. An initial deposit of $300.00 is due on Monday, February 6, 2012 with the remainder of the balance due on Monday, March 19, 2012. The appropriate balance will be announced when the total number of students is know for the trip in February after the initial deposit deadline.
