This course is designed to develop skills using software applications which include spreadsheets and databases. More advanced exercises in word processing and presentations are also included. Students will design worksheets using formulas and functions; graphs and charts will be created from collected data; and reports will be printed from database files. Skills will include linking files, creating reports using multiple applications, and sharing data in different applications.
In this course, students will use digital content, such as images or video, to create multimedia projects. Both two-dimensional and three-dimensional animation will be addressed, as well as topics such as lighting, texturing, motion control systems, etc. The media used within these productions will be developed, manipulated, and edited by the students and convey content-rich information. Final products should reflect use of multimedia elements, knowledge of design theory, and competency with productivity.
The accounting course is designed to develop in each student an understanding of the basic principles, concepts, and procedures of accounting (business finances), and to establish an understanding of how the basic principles of financing can be adapted to personal use.
Emphasis is placed on strengthening the student’s accounting knowledge and on broadening her knowledge of the automated accounting process. This course also develops habits of accuracy, independent thinking, neatness, legibility, promptness, and thoroughness.
