Our Mission
Our department mission is to guide and support our students in their academic, personal, and career journeys, ensuring they thrive as responsible, resilient, and compassionate individuals. We aim to inspire confidence, promote self-discovery, and instill a lifelong love of learning. Our goal is to prepare our students to excel academically, develop a strong sense of self, embrace service as a way of life, and contribute positively to their communities, embodying the values and traditions of our Cabrinian Legacy.
The Counseling & Guidance Department provides academic, career, and personal support services to students in all grade levels. In today's world, schools need to take an active role in helping students succeed academically and grow spiritually by providing resources for personal development and life skills. New 8th and 9th grade students participate in our Advisory program that provides a small group experience throughout their first year. Caring teachers and student leaders present activities that teach essential skills for students to succeed both academically and socially, as well as model and invite a sense of belonging to our Cabrini community.

Academic Skills Testing - All levels of foreign language take a national foreign language exam: Le Grand. Concours or National Spanish Exam (NSE).
- Math students in Intro to Algebra through Advanced Math take the NWEA MAP Growth test
Counselors provide classroom lessons in the areas of academic achievement, goal setting, strengths and values development, aptitudes identification, career interests, educational abilities and social emotional development. Throughout their high school experience, students are assisted with information regarding college, career and scholarship opportunities, internships, and summer academic opportunities that make the most of growing career interests. In junior and senior years, students are assisted with the college, financial aid, and scholarship application process.
The Students Against Drugs and Alcohol Club, moderated by the counselors, provides students with current drug and alcohol information, smart positive decision-making skills, and awareness of potential dangers. The club sponsors school-wide prevention activities throughout the year.
